Fergusons Downtown | Motel turned to Local and Sustainable shopping center

Fergusons Downtown features multiple local based shops with a varitey of goods including handmade and sustainable goods. You can truely find many unique pieces and feel happy to be supporting local businesses. They currently feature 13 shops, 8 micro studio shops and 7 local chefs.

The once rundown and abandoned Fergusons Motel, built in the 1940s, re-openned its doors back in 2019 after under going renovation creating what is now a beautiful outdoor shopping center. This unique venue hosts many local businesses, many providing sustainable options and featuring many local artists and vendors. It's a truley unique space.

Just bring in your glass jars to their Zero Waste Refill Station for a variety of household products, such as soaps, detergents, and cleaners, and package free bath and body products. They also have a variety of sustainable products like metal straws, utensils, toothbrush, wash cloths and more. A great place to stock up on package free and sustable alternatives.

DIY Vanity Tray | Using Thrift Store Finds

Vanity trays are both beautiful and useful. They can hold a couple of your daily beauty products, keeping them all in one place neatly. Without it, those products could be scattered around your room, making it appear messy. Plus, keeping them all in one place allows you to always know where to find them and will help you get ready quicker and with more ease.

I created a Tiered Vanity Tray using products I found at my local thrift store. Items such as plates, trays, candle sticks and dresser knobs. Using a little glue and placing all of those items together, you get a beautiful and elegant vanity tray. All the items were a dollar or less, for a total cost well under $10.

Upcycling Candle Containers | Making Vanity Jars

Candles are a great way to freshen up a room and change the atmosphere. They can be romantic and creates aromatherapy. However, they can also produce alot of waste because of their containers being thrown out after use. With a little creativity and minimal supplies, candle jars and containers can be transformed into something beautiful and functional. I turned mine into vanity jars to hold cotton balls, cotton pads and cotton swabs, placed on my dresser to give me easy access to those toiletries. They add a delicate touch to my room decor.
